A COMMUNITY OF HOPE

A PLACE OF POSSIBILITY

A CHANCE TO BELONG

WHO WE ARE

We see ourselves as a group of people who are asking questions about life, God and what it all means.

Some of us have been burned by church and are trying to heal.

Some of us have grown up in church and are looking for that same mystery that captured us as children.

Some of us are confused by it all and need a place to be honest and ask questions.

Some of us need a community of folks and believe we've found it here.

Regardless of who you are or where you come from, you're welcome here.

LEADERSHIP

At the story, we don't have paid staff or elected leaders, or really much that is official.

That being said, anyone is welcome to initiate or lead any sort of community gathering.

However, there are three folks who spend time each week planning meetings, dreaming about the future of the story, and doing their best to create opportunities for authenic community:

Sam Davidson
Sam is the cofounder of CoolPeopleCare, an online resource for anyone who wants to make a difference.  Sam grew up in the church, and while he first thought it was a great place to find answers, he really loved it when he discovered it was a great place to ask questions.

Lynnette Davidson
Lynnette is a graduate student at Peabody College, working towards a Master's Degreen in Counseling.  She wants to help people on their journey through life, and believes in the power of community and music to change the lives of individuals.

Mark Shivers
Mark is pursuing a Ph.D. in Homiletics at Vanderbilt University. Mark knows the power of language is both beautiful and dangerous, and knows that the church must come to a place where it can talk about its past in order to best chart its future as a positive force in the world.

Anyone is welcome to come and participate in our weekly planning gatherings.  We meet Wednesdays at 2 PM at Panera Bread on 21st Avenue South.
