A
COMMUNITY OF HOPE
A PLACE OF POSSIBILITY
A CHANCE TO BELONG
WHERE WE'VE BEEN
The
story began in the
summer of 2006. Unable to find an authentic, emergent faith community
in Nashville, Sam and Lynnette began staying home discussing and
dreaming about what such a community might look like.
In June of 2006, the two invited some friends to join in reading and
discussing Velvet Elvis by
Rob Bell on Tuesday evenings at their
house. During this conversation each week, everyone began to see
what Christianity could look like when lived authentically and for the
sake of others.
When the fall began, the group adopted the name the story and
started meeting on Sunday nights. A communal meal is served at 5
PM, following by the community meeting at 6.
In the short history of the
story, we've examined the life of Jesus, worshipped during
Advent, talked about our dreams, read How
Not to Speak of God, and
chosen our own adventure.
Each week, we gather to be community to one another and examine how we
can better live the story
of God in the way of Jesus in Nashville.
